"A pathetic media outing": Christelle d'Intorni responds to Gaël Nofri's new accusations

A new episode in the endless conflict between Gaël Nofri, deputy mayor of Nice, and UDR MP Christelle D'Intorni. In 2024, the latter filed a complaint against the Nice elected official for defamation after he claimed that the MP was repeatedly absent from the metropolitan council. In a press release issued Thursday, Gaël Nofri fired broadsides at his opponent, demanding that she "reimburse the Metropolis" for the cost of the legal proceedings.
The proceedings continued, and the MP appealed the initial court decision, "while requesting functional protection from the NCA Metropolis, resulting in costs for our community," Gaël Nofri points out. While the MP has chosen to withdraw her appeal, the deputy mayor of Nice believes she must now foot the bill. He is demanding that the MP "reimburse the NCA Metropolis for the cost of this pointless procedure, which she has waived."
"Being involved in politics doesn't excuse everything."A full-scale attack that made the MP lose her temper.
"I used legal channels to have a criminal offense punished as provided for in Article 29 of the 1881 law. Yes, in France, we cannot publicly insult and defame people! Being political does not excuse everything. Contrary to what Mr. Nofri claims, I never asked for functional protection from the Metropolis. I, who am the victim, have never asked the taxpayers of Nice to pay in my place, unlike him, who did not take a single euro out of his pocket and who had his lawyer's fees paid by the taxpayers of Nice! It is so easy to make others bear the brunt of your antics. Following a procedural problem and by mutual agreement, Mr. Nofri agreed to end the proceedings, because that would have saved him from being judged on the merits and having to take responsibility for his words. Daring to write in a press release that I have clogged up the courts with my proceedings is very unwise when the town hall and The homes of certain deputies are searched every week! This pathetic media release is nothing more than a vulgar counter-fire to try to make people forget the Joan of Arc statue affair, the substantial irregularities detected in the awarding of its contracts to Parcs d'Azur, and to try to cover up the 13 hours of police custody of the mayor of Nice for embezzlement of public funds, forgery of public documents and illegal taking of interest. Ultimately, the only truth that emanates from his press release is that you cannot stop a dog from barking, nor a liar from lying."
